Ahmet is a blood type A liver patient. His wife, Bahar, is willing to donate a lobe of her liver to Ahmet. However, having blood type B, Bahar cannot donate to Ahmet due to the blood type incompatibility. Banu, a blood type B liver patient and her blood type A husband Arda face a similar difficulty. Even though Arda is a willing donor, he cannot donate a liver lobe to his wife due to the blood type incompatibility.

Fortunately, the liver paired donation system comes to the rescue of these two families. Arda donates a liver lobe to Ahmet who has the same blood type as him (blood type A), and simultaneously, Bahar donates a liver lobe to Banu who has the same blood type as her (blood type B). Thanks to this donor exchange, both patients receive a compatible transplant.
